Lunar Cable Park hosts the official App Run in Almería, providing an inclusive space for runners, joggers, ambitious athletes, hand cyclists, and wheelchair participants. Entry is just €25, and 100% of all donations AND entry fees go directly to spinal cord injury research. This is where global purpose meets local community.

The Mission
Wings for Life is a global non-profit organization dedicated to spinal cord injury research and care. Founded on the belief that spinal cord injuries are not permanent, the foundation invests in groundbreaking research to restore mobility and independence for millions living with paralysis worldwide.

The Format
Wings for Life World Run is designed to be inclusive. Runners, joggers, hand cyclists, and wheelchair participants all start together at Lunar. The course is a loop around the lake at Lunar Cable Park — the straight is 1250 m and a full lap is 2.5 km. You keep running laps until the virtual Catcher Car catches you. This is what makes Wings for Life special — everyone participates together toward the same goal.
At precisely 1:00 PM CEST (11:00 UTC), participants in all 195+ countries start together via the Wings for Life World Run App. This synchronization creates a powerful global moment—hundreds of thousands of people worldwide moving toward the same goal. It's inspiring, unifying, and moving. You'll feel part of something truly special.
This is what makes Wings for Life unique. At App Runs like Almería, the Virtual Catcher Car starts 30 minutes after the race begins at 14km/h and gradually increases speed. Your achievement is measured by how far you go—whether running, jogging, or rolling—before being caught. Everyone who participates becomes part of the global achievement, every kilometer counts.
